Ko's Tae Kwon Do
To be victorious with patience and bravery,
To honor and love my parents , brothers and sisters,
To self-sacrifice and serve my friends and neighbors,
To be loyal to my society and country.
A Brief History
Ko's Tae Kwon Do was established by Grand Master David Jae Boong Ko in September of 1992.
The first school was located at 313 Route 46 East in Parsippany, New Jersey.
In September of 2003, Master Ko opened the doors to his Livingston school.
Due to its solid foundation and reputation for excellence, the school has grown at a tremendous rate, providing an ideal environment to grow, not only in Tae Kwon Do, but also in life.
Ko's Tae Kwon Do serves students from Livingston, NJ and the surrounding towns in Essex County and Morris County, including but not limited to West Orange, Short Hills, Millburn, Roseland, the Caldwells, Florham Park, East Hanover, Whippany and Parsippany.
Training At Ko's Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do is the Korean art of self-defense.
Its goals can be described as follows:
The best self-defense is that of a serene, self-contained person, at peace with himself and the world around him.
Grand Master Ko emphasizes physical conditioning, mental discipline, emotional self-restraint and a philosophy of kindness, humility and strong moral character.
The school stresses the five focuses: eye contact, listening, concentration, being quiet and yelling loudly (when appropriate), and paying attention.
These focuses make an impact on the student both at home, with family, and at school.
